Crafting Better
AI Instructions

Introducing the CRAFTED framework.

The core idea

Quality over quantity

The model already knows a great deal.
Distil the essence of your message from the sea of information.

A sharp brief beats a long one.

Meet CRAFTED

Seven parts of a good brief.

Context

Background facts

Role

The perspective

Audience

Who it is for

Format

The shape

Task

The deliverable

Exclusions

What to avoid

Documentation

The sources

Context

The background facts and constraints that shape the answer.

The client is reviewing their tax position for the current YA.

Role

The perspective to take: persona, expertise, and point of view.

Act as a professional Singapore tax adviser.

Audience

Who reads it, what they know, and the tone to use.

A first-time company director. Warm and reassuring.

Format

Structure, length, and output type. Style lives here too.

A short summary, then 3 to 5 bullets. Plain English.

Task

The deliverable you want, stated plainly and explicitly.

Advise which reliefs apply, and what to check before filing.

Exclusions

Topics, tones, clichés, and assumptions to keep out.

No hype or guarantees. Do not invent figures.

Documentation

Every fact needs a named source and a checked link.

Cite iras.gov.sg for any figures, with a working link.

It all lives in one tool

Seven ways to turn CRAFTED into working prompts.

1. Persona

CRAFTED, saved.

2. Search

Traces the source.

3. New-Topic

Drafts the brief.

4. Humaniser

Rewrites the draft.

5. Nobius

Cuts the padding.

6. Accounting

Extracts to tables.

7. Council

Debates the call.

Function 1 · Persona Prompt

Set your brief once, reuse it

Fill the seven CRAFTED fields, or let one-click quick actions do the typing for you.

Start from a persona

Myself, tax adviser, content creator, or one of five advisory personas.

Quick-action chips

Tone, style, structure, and output file (PPT, DOC, Excel, HTML) in one tap.

Exclusions & sources

Toggle common exclusions and recommended sources without typing.

Set as base

Pin your own Myself persona so the tool reopens with it ready.

Function 2 · Search Prompt

For simple searches

Turn any topic into a prompt that forces cited, checkable results.

1Enter the topic you are looking for.
2Optionally restrict it to trusted domains (MAS, IRAS, CPF, and more).
3Get a prompt that demands a working link for every claim.

Function 3 · New-Topic Prompt

When you don't know how to begin

Give a rough goal and the AI drafts a full CRAFTED brief you can refine.

Act as a prompt architect. Turn this goal into a CRAFTED prompt: "[YOUR GOAL]" Headers: Context, Role, Audience, Format, Task, Exclusions, Documentation.

Function 4 · Humaniser

Make AI text sound human

Paste a draft. It rewrites in a plainer, more human voice and returns just the rewrite.

Diagnose

Spots the AI tells: rule-of-three rhythm, smoothing connectors, generic phrasing.

Concrete

Makes vague claims specific, or marks gaps as [need: ___] to fill.

Voice

Varied sentence length, real opinions, contractions, no flourishes.

Keeps every fact. Adds nothing. Near the original length.

Function 5 · Nobius

Cut the padding, not the meaning

Paste dense or padded text. It rewrites in plain, unambiguous English, built for a reader who cannot ask what you meant.

One rule at a time

35 named rules: one meaning per sentence, no phrasal verbs, no stacked hedges.

Cuts repetition

A sentence that repeats an earlier one, or an opening that says nothing, is deleted outright.

Never a fact

Hedges, exceptions, and numbers survive untouched. Cutting is never allowed to cut information.

The opposite of Humaniser: this one removes voice, Humaniser adds it.

Function 6 · Accounting

Turn documents into data tables

Upload receipts, statements, or invoices and get clean, fixed-column tables.

Ready-made templates

Expenses (simple or GST split), reconciliation, bank statement, invoices, trial balance.

Fixed columns

Set headers every time, like description, amount, and a suggested GL account.

Excel or clipboard

An .xlsx file, or a table that pastes straight into a spreadsheet.

Keeps every value exactly. Never invents figures.

Function 7 · The Council

Put a decision to a council

Five advisers debate your call from clashing angles, then a Chairman delivers the verdict.

Five minds

Contrarian, First Principles, Expansionist, Outsider, and Executor, each arguing from one lens.

Anonymous review

The advisers rank each other blind, so none can defend its own take. It curbs the yes-man reflex.

Chairman's verdict

One clear call: the decision, the main reason, the critical risk, and a 7-day action.

It builds the whole debate into a finished, self-contained dashboard.
